Refrigerator Pickles

 2 pickling cucumbers or substitute 1 English cucumber

    cut into spears or disks

1 cup water

1 cup apple cider vinegar

1 tsp kosher salt


Flavorings:

2 tsp Dill fresh or 3 tsp dried

4 cloves garlic, crushed

1 tsp whole peppercorns

Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes if you like your pickles spicy.


You will also need one glass vessel with a lid to store the pickles in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cucumbers by cutting them into disks or spears. Your preference!

Add flavorings to the vessel. Then add prepared cucumbers ontop of the flavorings to the glass vessel. 

2. Heat the water, until boiling hot in a pan on the stove. Stir in the salt until dissolved. 

Stir in the vinegar. Then let this liquid cool to room temp.

3. Pour over the cucumbers until covered.  Then seal the vessel and store in the refrigerator for a minimum of one hour before eating. Wait 24 hours for maximum flavor.
